Carpet Home: new advertising manager
Up to now, Mr Dennis Galle has been advising advertising customers of the business magazine Carpet Home with great commitment. As of 1 July, Galle will be leaving the team to pursue new career paths. In Mr Oliver Trettin, Carpet Home has found an extremely competent successor for the position of advertising manager.
Hausmann becomes Porta – featuring large carpet departments
Two Hausmann furniture stores are located in the greater Cologne area: one in Cologne-Gremberghoven, one in Bergheim. Both are fully owned by Porta Holding and will be rebranded this summer, so they will soon also operate under Porta brand name.
Wayfair invests in European headquarters
Wayfair has grown strongly during the pandemic. In the first quarter of 2021 alone, the US online retailer for home furnishing products had almost doubled its sales year-on-year (+49.2 %), to USD 3.5 billion (around EUR 2.9 billion).

German Design Award for Kymo

Tisca: Markus Lippert retires
For several decades Markus Lippert played a formative role in the carpet industry, most recently as general sales manager for the Austrian supplier Tisca Textil. Now he is taking his well-deserved retirement. "However, you never quite retire from this profession," says Lippert.
3000th Jysk store opened
The Danish retailer Jysk had already opened its 3000th store in February: in Italy's largest shopping centre, the Da Vinci Village in Fiumicino on the outskirts of Rome. However, due to the pandemic, the corresponding celebration did not take place until 18 May.
Home 24 with strong sales growth
Home 24 continued to grow strongly in Q1 2021: compared to the same period last year, the online retailer recorded a currency-adjusted growth of +72% in incoming orders; revenues increased by +64% (to EUR 159 million) in this period.
