Heimtextil has unveiled its Trends 27/28 under the title "Home-Maxxing – The Performance of Everyday Living". Developed together with Milan design platform Alcova, Messe Frankfurt's three trend directions explore the relationship between efficiency thinking and respite in the home. "Staged Competence" presents technical performance as a deliberate design feature, "Inside, Out" makes constructions and connecting elements visible rather than hiding them, and "Hyper Presence" puts the focus on tactility, material ageing and sensory surface quality. The colour palettes range from cool, technical blues and greens through high-contrast anthracite and red to warm earth tones such as rust red and ochre.
"Heimtextil Trends 27/28 broadens the view of textile performance: it's not just about what materials and products deliver, but equally about how their function becomes tangible and their character can be experienced," says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt.
The three trend directions will be presented in the Trend Space at the forthcoming Heimtextil, taking place from 12 to 15 January 2027 in Frankfurt am Main.
