The London sale “The Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds” on 30 April 2026 features over 80 selected rugs and carpets, with a focus on museum-grade provenance. The auction is led by the floral Toledo Mughal carpet from India, recently deaccessioned from the Toledo Museum of Art. Of particular historical significance is the Safavid Holms Hepburn Coronation carpet, which was used during the coronations of British Kings Edward VII and George V. The offering further includes important Persian, Caucasian, and Anatolian weavings, representing both tribal traditions and the finest courtly craftsmanship. Additionally, the auction showcases rare arms and armour from the Howard Ricketts Collection, alongside Indian jewelled objects and Mughal and Company School paintings.
