New halls, new owners, new store concepts: the latest issue of Carpet Home, III+IV/2026, shows a rug industry repositioning itself in a subdued market. The cover story looks ahead to Heimtextil 2027. Having concentrated Carpets & Rugs in one area in 2026, the fair is now spreading the section across several halls again. With Carpets & Rugs Excellence, it is also introducing a juried area for volume manufacturers for the first time. In an interview, Heimtextil Director Bettina Bär explains why.
Other formats are changing too. After mixed results, the Flanders Flooring Days are drawing their conclusions: from 2028 they will be called the European Flooring Days and take place only every two years. 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen, by contrast, reported record visitor numbers. Hometex Sommer showed that rugs still need more exhibitors.
In our Interview of the Month, Reza Rejaye, Jesper Andersen and Peter Rønn talk about the takeover of Rezas by the Danish buying group Inbogulve on 1 January 2027. Their shared verdict: “Not a farewell, but a new beginning.” Retailers such as Knutzen, Rohani and Kibek show how change can be shaped on the shop floor. A special on cuddly rugs and Carpet Collector round off the issue.
