Jysk has agreed to take over the stores and employees in Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia from its current franchise partner, Fatmir Zymberi. Jysk has been present in the three markets since 2004 (Kosovo), 2008 (North Macedonia) and 2015 (Albania), and they now have 25 stores between them: 12 in Kosovo, seven in North Macedonia and six in Albania. The takeover is expected to take effect on 1 January 2027, subject to regulatory approval. Business will continue as usual.
"We see significant potential to grow the brand even further by bringing the countries into our own organisation, where we will invest directly in future expansion, our stores and the employees," says Rami Jensen, President and CEO of Jysk. The company plans to build on the existing local organisation and open more stores.
