Hammer/Schlau: Christoph Wackerbauer Moves to Obi

Christoph Wackerbauer, most recently Managing Director of Brüder Schlau and the Hammer retail chain, is moving to the Obi Group. He takes on the role of Country Manager Obi Hungary – a position he previously held there from 2009 to 2015. Wackerbauer succeeds Christian Brieskorn, who led the Hungarian team for nine years and will continue within Obi's German sales organisation.

Wackerbauer served as Managing Director of Brüder Schlau and Hammer from November 2019 to June 2026. The group filed for insolvency in June 2025; no investor solution was found.
