The XXXLutz Group continues its expansion and is opening its 50th furniture store in Austria from 2 to 4 July. Located in Nußdorf-Debant near Lienz, the company is revitalising a vacant property previously occupied by its former competitor Kika/Leiner. Over the past six months, the furniture retailer invested more than 6 million Euros in the complete and sustainable refurbishment of the building. Spanning two floors and over 10,000 square metres of retail space, the new store offers a digitised shopping experience alongside a specialised kitchen competence centre. According to company spokesperson Thomas Saliger, the Group is thereby sending a clear signal in support of brick-and-mortar retail. The opening creates 60 new jobs and 12 apprenticeships in the East Tyrol region.
