HTW/Halbmond Teppichwerke: Sixteen styles in top print quality
For its latest collection ‘Rug Creations’, the company Halbmond Teppichwerke, based in Germany’s Vogtland region, is going all-out with cutting-edge digital printing technology. Founded in the town of Oelsnitz in 1880 as a modest weaving mill, the firm still has production today at the same location, but now is a high-tech innovator as an international machine weaver of carpets.
The company started using a Colaris printing machine in 2019 for products up to two metres wide. This new machine delivers even finer reproduction quality, and can use up to 24 colour tones per design, based around the four primary colours.
The Rug Creations collection of Halbmond Teppichwerke has been created using this very technology, consisting of sixteen styles for tasteful interior decor. These throw rugs feature sharply contoured, high-resolution designs typical of digital printing.
‘Rusty Look’ is all about industrial flair, depicting iron through colour simulating a rust patina.
Similarly, ‘Traces of Times’ reveals the beauty that emerges as materials and surfaces change through the ravages of time. ‘Touch of Persia’ is of course a re-interpretation of traditional Persian carpet patterns, while the linear patterns of ‘Graphic Geometric’ make for a subtle ambient augmentation. ‘Scarf Looks’ picks up on the elegance of fashionable scarves, and ‘Blooming Tales’ is characterised by lush, sometimes delicate floral patterns that have a touch of the romantic. ‘Expressive Painting’ dips into the paint without restraint, transforming carpets into modern art. And the magical colour gradients of the ‘Water Colours’ style bring vibrant accents to interiors.
The products come in four sizes: 90 x 135 cm, 120 × 180 cm, 160 × 240 cm and 200× 300 cm. Digital printing technology is ideal for smaller production runs.Carpet Home-Newsletter: Click here for free newsletter subscription
